A few years ago I launched Prometheus Unbound, a webzine providing news and reviews of speculative fiction from a libertarian perspective, in part to help other libertarians find good stories that reflect their values and in part to promote libertarian fiction.
I want to see more libertarians creating high-quality works of fiction. Prometheus Unbound is still a valuable project with a role to play, but today it is my pleasure to announce a new project aimed at cultivating libertarian authors and improving discoverability of their work: the Libertarian Fiction Authors Association.
The Libertarian Fiction Authors Association began as a simple mastermind and writing group on a Google Groups email list, a place for libertarians (broadly defined) who are aspiring or already published fiction authors (of any genre) to lend each other support and encouragement, share tips, critique each others’ works-in-progress, and more.
That email list still exists and is our main mode of communication with each other, but it quickly became a much more ambitious project.
And so, the association and this website were born.
